This model is the Redemption 2 and has been upsized. It has a 4.50" blade that is .158" thick. Overall length is 10.0" and the thickness is .61" and fairly even throughout so that it really rides flat in the pocket. The titanium liners are .095" thick and this knife is more framelock than liner lock with those thick liners!

Fit and finish is absolutely stunning as Pat has this down pat. The action is buttery smooth with a strong detent to keep the blade in the closed position until you want it opened. Of course the lockup is dead-on tight with no play in any direction. Blade is completely centered upon closing. The handle material is green canvas micarta and the whole knife is satin finished. The weight of this one runs at 9.0 ounces but rides easily in the pocket. For the size and weight of the knife, Pat has still been able to build it fairly slim, at least .61" feels slim to me.

The pics are by Pat's wife and are EXCELLENT!! :) :) :)

Hi Art,

You sound excited about this one... ;) From the good photos it appears you nailed it. So did Pat.

Thanks for the looksee!

Nice score Art.

It was at Blade Show 2001, Kit Carson told a bunch of us that we needed to go take a look at Pat's work. He was a new maker that none of us had heard of, but when Kit tells you to go take a look, you look. Pat was there with his family at the table. Beautiful work and nice folks. It surprised none of us when Pat won Best New Maker 2001. My guess is he's only gotten better since 2001.

Great looking folder Art,now you just need to get that clip turned around.Do you think this one will be big enough??? :p :D

But the clip IS turned around. :D It is pretty big by the physical dismensions, 4.5" X .158" blade and an overall length of 10.0 ", but somhow Pat has worked it so that it does not "feel" like a big, clunky, heavy, and awkward folder. It is slim in hand and the swelled front end really gives your hand protection, while the rear swell just helps to stabilize your grip. The front bolster has a concave shape at it's front that really makes the knife stand out. It really rides well in my pocket, and the opening is soooo smooth...................... :D :D :D I think Pat may be getting more "tactical" in his offerings, along with building bigger knives. I've talked to him about some 4.5" bowie blades he is making for a few folders.

Wow!
I've never previously seen Pat's work but if this is what it looks like, I'd like to see more.

Website?

Patrick, THANK YOU for the pix!! You work is AMAZING!! I LOVE it. I can not wait until I can get one of your incredible knives!!

Hey Pat, it is website time!

I just cannot get over how well made this knife is. Or how well it "fits" the picture/pattern that I had in my head for this knife. I've tightened the blade down to my liking and it is now ready to go! And even though the blade is tight, that last little bit on the closing of the blade just allows the blade to be drawn into the completely closed position as the liner snaps over to hold it in place. Great knife and Great maker. Can't wait for his next "BIG DOG"!!  :D

I just finished designing a 4'' model Redemption for a customer. Thinking about adding it to the line-up. Hmmm....Redemption I.....Redemption 1.5....Redemption II....Krazy I tell ya......

Design and redesign.

Folks I want to share that I've started dialog with Mr. Nihiser about having a knife made and he's been a prince, graciously answering my barrage of questions.

I'll be sure to post details as things progress.
