Patang -- Pix and who wants one?

It looks sort of like one of those Arkasas Toothpick bowies that I like. I am going to have to take the weekend and think about this.

Que lastima, dhuff. Perhaps you could disguise it by wrapping some wire around it, put a shade on it, and tell her that it is a lamp or something. Or buy a steak knife set for her and kinda slip this one in as the "Big steak knife".

:) :) ;)

You can always try and convince her that she's just seeing things, and there really aint a new knife in your hands, no really. :D

What phgeezer said reminds me: is there a counterpart to Murphy in the Hindu/ Buddhist pantheon?

Oh, and just to clarify - this is double-edged, correct?

No

Huh, judging by the pics and the comments about the Gladius, I thought for sure that it was. In that case, I just lost interest, so I will NOT be buying one after all.

Similar, but not matching;)

Dr. Duvon Winborne would disagree with wanting it double edged. From what I understand he prefers a sharp edge for cutting/slashing, and a blunt spine for blocking/striking. I like the looks of the Patang as a collector piece, but have to go with Uncle in preferring to stick with a khuk for getting the job done.

Phgeezer, I strongly suspect that Murphy is not limited to any race, religion, creed, color, or language.

If you ask Bill, he'd probably say Murphy is occassionally his first name and often his last name turns out to be Bishwakarma, with kamis having a higher than normal rate of qualification for murphyhood based on his own personal and painful experiences.

Come to think of it, didn't they recently make Murphy the patron saint of computers?

Being called a "patang" I really did expect this thread to wonder elsewhere.

But now it is down at the bottom of the page, to be forgotten. My innuendo and other connotations will go unheard. And I will be unable to make a funny.
:(

It really is too bad.

Besides it is a cool lookin knife.;)
