Greetings knifeknuts! Here’s a new Patch Knife style for your consideration.
Steel is 1/8” x 1 1/4” in NitroV with professional HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to P600 grit for a satin finish. The edge was about .010” before sharpening.
Dimensions: 9 1/2” OAL, Tip to bolster at just over 4”
The bolster is textured brass and buffed nickel silver. The handle is Elk tine, leather and wenge with fiber and stainless spacers. It’s sanded to 1200 grit, oiled waxed and buffed. I was told by a guy who bought another one the irregular fine lines in the elk are fighting scars. Interesting theory and seems likely, they are big antlers.

. Thanks for your kind replies. A little explanation of how these came about: I have all these antlers from 6+ point sheds and was looking around to see what to do with them. The big google has loads of photos of patch knives with a variety of blade styles but most had elk tine handles so there you go. I'm planning eventually to make huge belt buckles out of the 3" crowns too, just need to source the attaching hardware (Tandy doesn't carry anything, any hints?)
