Looks great, the handle looks perfect !

Only thing I'd change is the big space when the handle ends and the blade begins, why do so many knives have that ?

Can't speak for others but I know why my knives have it. I'm not a big fan of traditional guards and I need some way to prevent my hand from sliding onto the blade when stabbing something full force. I'm sure most people don't really worry about such a situation, but I do. I've had to dispatch more than one boar with a blade. Sliced myself up good one time, ever since I add this sort of guard.

I like that long ricasso for "choking up" on a longer blade for detail work. Middle finger behind the quillion/"guard" with the blade flat pinched lightly between thumb and forefinger. Perfect for caping, detail skinning, getting splinters, etc. I can't say that's why they're designed that way, but that's what I like about 'em.

Pitdog. That area is known as the "taint no edge" area. Sweet looking blade.
