I think I used a mix of tomato and apples, and just let diced pieces sit on the blade for about 20 minutes.
 
Been using the m4 in the kitchen all last week and the patina is slow going. It's has more of a dark galvanized look to it, with swirls of purple here and there....

yes,but it looks so natural!and not forced,i really think they look better this way.:)
 
Apple cider vinegar soak for one hour...

Thanks, I don't think D2 will stain like O1 or other carbon blades. I believe D2 is classified as semi-stainless, but all the D2 blades I've ever owned have never developed a patina.
