Pattern, Main clip, secondary sheepsfoot/wharncliffe?

Whilst it may be an old thread, I still think we can offer something more.

It's always amazed me that the Clip/Sheefoot or Wharncliffe combination is so rare, certainly the Wharncliffe Trapper offers possibilities but the Wharncliffe can be high riding making the grip a bit uncomfortable, depending on the knife. But very few makers offer a Clip and smaller Sheepfoot Jack. Why is this? I'm sure it would be very popular and appreciated but the deadweight of precedent and 'custom' might be what's preventing it. In other words, a kind of conservatism that says, well it never happened back then so maybe it's not needed now and aint Traditional. Who knows? But like I say, I'm sure if CASE or GEC introduced widely available Jacks with this combo it would go down a storm! Few are those who don't find the Sheepfoot a delight....

The rather arbitrarily named Horticulturalist's Knife from Schatt&Morgan was mentioned earlier, it's from 2007 and 600 examples were made so they should be out there! I have one, a nice knife with long pull Clip, small Sheepfoot and decent dark red bone. Rather slim and pencil like though for those wanting a burlier knife but a decent knife no question. I think Böker Germany did a likeable Olive Wood Jack in Stainless, a Stockman minus the 3rd blade a good idea.

Here's one from Carl Schliepper Eye Brand, carbon, Black Bone, around 3" so small, but a worthy carry indeed.

I skimmed this thread earlier and didn't see the Schrade 93ot wrangler. As Will said, that is not a very common blade arrangement. I own both the S&M horticulture knife and the Boker stockman Jack. They are both decent knives for what I paid for them.
We also can't forget about the CSC forum knife!
My humble group of clip main knives with sheepsfoot/ wharnie secondaries.

Very cool Jeff! You have the skill for sure. Still makes me wonder why so few knife companies offer what is obviously a much appreciated combination.

Will, I'd think the #48 pattern would at least be a "no brainer," especially with another run of them coming right up. The muskrat clip and sheepfoot from the #53 Cuban stockman would fit right into the #48 frame, without any modification at all.
