Pattern Welded Trinket Boxes

This trinket box is about 3" wide by 3" tall, with a stainless steel base. The lid is made from the same steel as the box.

This one is a similar size with an oak base and a 7 bar pattern, the lid is from the same steel.

Those are great......that first one is very elegant, IMHO. :cool:
 
Bruce, nothing as technical as that. These are made the same as you would for a knife, just bigger.Then the bar of material is formed around a suitable sized piece of solid round stock, so you end up with a short tube. The join is hard soldered and the whole piece turned up on a lathe.

So there is a seam? Knowing you I wouldnt be surprised if these were cut-offs of a custom cannon you made.:)
 
No custom cannons, Bruce. Talking off which, I am enjoying watching your pirate pistol/knife evolve, another master piece in the making.
