I saw this thread over on the Spyderco forums, and I bet I'm not the only one who didn't learn of this model right away. The Spyderco Ikuchi, designed by Paul Alexander. A "toothpick" blade profile with a compression lock and a "wheel flipper" similar to a lighter, something I've never seen before. Is anyone else excited for this? The design is super sleek and curvy, the flipper is unique and the carbon fiber just dresses it up so nicely.

I REALLY wish this one was out for Father's day, I know I'd have one for sure!

Looks like a great 940 competitor. I really like how the blade completely disappears in the scales when closed. It looks a little longer than I normally like, but I'm eager to try it out.

Spyderco does a good job of teasing so early like this. Still waiting for mantra 3 now this? I really want a compression flipper. The Hanan had some negatives Nick shabaz got to reviee on YouTube

Saw this knife on the video linked above, and it very much grabbed my attention. I really like the looks of it. Saw a thread on Spyderco forum about it. Paul Alexander stated the blade length should be around 3.0" - 3.25". Commented there... comment not seen since, lol.
Definitely plan on buying one (or two) of these whenever it is they get released.

u.w.

That blade length sounds good to me but bad for my wallet. Let the waiting game begin.

Have you considered the Sliverax? I was a little apprehensive about it at first. Then I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It now gets carried ahead of several more popular models.

I have just didn't pullptge trigger. Just bought two other knives on marketplace so I can wait.

It’s a great looking knife! It’s going to have a difficult time breaking into my top 4 anticipated models...which says a lot about how many great things are coming down the pike.

Spyderco is a big tease though. Might be a while before we see it on the shelf.

One thing to note about the BHQ video and the picture --- the piece in the video has an index finger hole that Eric says the designer put there to aid in grasping the knife or something like that, while the piece in the picture lacks this hole. It seems like an odd feature to me and I personally wouldn't want it, here's hoping the final product is without a hole.

Personally I really like the holes. Hope this comes in under $200.

Interesting, not my taste personally but definitely appreciate the innovative design elements there.

Bump for a really cool design. Wonder if we'll see it this year.
