Paul Long goodness....

Only thing I would of changed in my humble opinion is that I would have gotten a hand turned oversized damascus stud from Mr. Dean to match the blade. The standard Sam Brown just does not do justice to such a blade and sheath.

The problem is that the guard on the El Diablo is damascus as well, and the handle bolts are polished stainless with radial engraving. My feeling is that Paul pulled it off just right. I may get the center of the concho "scratched" on by Harvey down the line, or it just might turn out perfect as is.

I wanted this knife to look like it would be at home on some cowboy dandy's rig back in the late 1800's....and in my mind's eye, it does.

It does look fantastic but maybe a oversized stainless stud maybe fluted . Do not take this as not loveing the sheath. Just those small sam browns don't hang on to your belt or pants as well

Entirely depends upon how tight you wear your belt, and if I WAS going to wear the knife I would cut a notched hole into the belt for the sheath...that way, it isn't going ANYWHERE.;)

Very nice indeed. I think I may have to look into having Paul make a sheath for me in the not too distant future.
