I just watched the first Paul Long sheath making DVD. I strongly recommend this DVD to anyone learning to make sheaths. The tips regarding tools and finishes will pay for the DVD just by eliminating some of the trial and error. Paul speaks very well and is a natural teacher. This is very highly recommended.

I have it. Also check out

Paul's DVDs improved my sheath making dramatically! They are well worth the money!!!

Couldn't agree more! I've got Paul's first 2 videos and they are well worth the $$$!!!

I have been making sheaths for about 12 years or so, but it wasn't until I started implementing things I learned in Paul's videos that they got any extra attention.

The only down-side for the average Joe, IMHO, is Paul does all his stitching with high end sewing machines (a MUST for Paul)... but most guys won't have those units as an option.

Chuck's video is a very good one also! And very well suited to a guy who is wanting to make a sheath with basic tools and doesn't know where to start.

Paul's second video is extra super awesome since it's one of my knives he's making the sheath for. ;) :D LMAO

I don't have the advanced DVD yet but I plan on buying it. That's awesome that he was sheathing your knife! :) I'm gonna have to check it out!

I agree

Of all the instructional videos I've seen, (and I make an effort to see most of them)

Paul Long's Basic and Advanced are among the most informative and well produced I've seen.

I highly recommend them.

He shows some advanced things I may not do with inlays, splitting the hides thinner, machine stitching and such,
However his work methods, and recommendation on products and such are very good.

It's a perfect Christmas Gift

I see now he has another tips video I will also get sometime

I agree, the Wild Rose video is also good and worth having.
- a great palace to start for pattern making and hand stitching

I have 1 and three. I ordered three by mistake instead of two. My doctor switched my ADHD meds, and I am VERY out of sorts. Three is good as well, but I learned more from one.
