- To get not only an artistically designed axe, but also a fully working tool, I use steel 65G (spring carbon steel) for its manufacture. This steel has such properties as wear resistance, high impact strength. But it requires some care, because when it gets wet it rusts.
- I use ash to make an axe handle and a case. The wood combines together strength, flexibility and texture. The wood is selected carefully not only for its texture, but also for the location of the fibers, so that the axe handle is not only harmoniously looked, but also strong enough.
- The handle of the axe is covered with Osmo oil, emphasizing the natural beauty of the wood. This oil has water and dirt repellent properties, gives extra strength to the handle of the axe.
