Pawn shop knife for $7.50

Got this knife in a set of three, with a slipjoint and a frame lock folder for Christmas a few years back.
The handles are Burl wood and the blades are 420 stainless.
They are good looking knives, it's just a shame they used such cheap steel.
Hey, for 7 bucks, you got a decent beater that doesn't look half bad, and a sheath.

Forgot to add, as per your original question, yes they are china made, and by Gerber
according to packaging.

The price you paid was just OK. I got a set of 3 limited edition for $11 from Walmart years ago. I guess the steel is some 420 stuff, they no longer marked "surgical stainless" as I guess they were reading BF as much as us.:D The design is somewhat derived from the famous Loveless drop point hunters.

I read somewhere that pre-1980's Winchester knives were USA made.
And at some point in the 80's they started having them made in China. :thumbdn:

I check the label/stamp/box on everything I buy, and I do my best to not buy stuff made in China.
