The pawn shops in my area try to sell frost cutlery blades for $100+. It's ridiculous. I think they buy them to resell and hope that someone thinks they're getting a steal. Great find Sailblade!
I worked at a pawn shop antil a little over a year ago. We would not take any China made knives. Only brand names we took. We didnt ever get anything real special in other than some guys would sell/pawn their case collection or a randall every now and then. Mainly we got alot of Bucks,Gerbers and occasionally SOG and Kershaw. I bought alot of them. I have seen some deals at other shops though over the years.
I Find that if the pawn shop has an FFL they are likely to have a few good knives. If they are the Rolex, rare coin and jewelry type, They are unlikely to have a knife in their shop.
