Pay Attention To Ya Pooch !

Second stop was when she sniffed out this shrews head, not sure why only the body had been eaten. I do know that shrews have scent glands that put prey off eating them but as far as I know they are located on the body ?

Possibly eaten by an owl? Scent glands wouldn't put off an owl, they have no sense of smell at all.

My dog rolled around on a dead fish once, luckily the water was right there to wash it off. Also rolled in another dogs crap a while ago, we were in some long grass so I couldn't see what it was at first, then I noticed brown streaks on her fur and a horrible smell, real lovely. I always wondered why dogs did that kind of thing.

As for things my dog's found, well she found a whole outfit once, not just underwear but pants, socks, shoes, and a shirt too. Didn't seem like someone was just throwing out clothes as there was only one of each thing so that was weird, it was hidden too so I was thinking there might have been a body to go with it:eek: of course there wasn't though.

That shrew head is interesting. My old cat used to eat mouse bodies and leave all the heads laying in the yard, maybe some animals just don't like the heads.

sure love you guys dog pics. my 3 dogs are stuck in city since all the rural areas i frequent are full of hogs. since they are ignorant of these vicious pests i ca'nt chance one or more getting cut to pieces. the guys with packs of hogdogs keep kevlar vests on the dogs, however some still sustain severe injuries. mu brothers ranch is loaded with rattlers one of his labs was bitten by a copperhead & was o.k. next day but the rattler cost 2400$ to save the dog. we do have guys that condition your dogs to rattlers but it has to be done yearly.i wopuld'nt mind the costs on the snake proofing but the hogs are something else. biologists in texas say the hogs are actually as smart as german shepards.if they have 10 babies--14 survive.
