Pay It Forward Giveaway - Winner Announced

As some of you may know, I recently lucked into a runner-up prize in Duncan's (AKA Campbellclanman) photo competition giveaway, and I'm so grateful for his generosity that I'd like to start a "pay-it-forward" giveaway in his honer.

I'm hoping that this will be the beginning of an on-going reciprocity exchange in which the winner will pay-it-forward with another Traditional forum giveaway; each subsequent winner taking up the obligation in turn.

The rules are simple:

  • Anyone, anywhere can enter.

  • Your post number is your entry number, so please post one time only.

  • The winner agrees to start another pay-it-forward giveaway of their own, likewise urging the next winner to continue in kind, and so on. Failure to do so may incur karmic repercussions :D. Anything related to traditional knives is fine; a knife, a knife care product, a book, a pouch or case, a collectible peripheral, etc.; it's up to you.

  • To keep things interesting, post an Autumn or Halloween themed photo. Preferably one that includes a traditional knife.

The winner gets an A.G. Russell Curved Jack, with the tang notched as a "second" or "EDC." Aside from a subtle symmetry variation on one side of the bolster (visible in the last photo) and some faint handling marks, it's every bit as nice as my hand-picked version: smooth, solid, sharp, tight, snappy, centered and wobble-free. A.G.'s QC is strict - most manufacturers would have easily let these extremely minor hiccups slide without a second thought.

The 3" Wharncliffe blade is Swedish Sandvik 12C27, the bolsters, liners and shield are 400 series stainless and the handle scales are nicely matched amber jigged bone. The blade pivot runs on bronze bushings with no halfstop. It's 3-5/8" closed and weighs around 2.9 oz.

The winning number will be chosen at random in a week or two.

Thanks to our friend Duncan, and to A.G.Russell for his amazing customer service, without which I wouldn't have this giveaway opportunity.

I think luck played no part in your win: the photographs in this thread (particularly the 1st shot) are superb.

Great contest and a great idea.

I'm in and I'll figure out a worthy prize if I'm chosen to do the next round of this most excellent of ideas.

A Halloween themed "picture"

This is actually a combination of several pictures to make the Halloween card for this year's party

Heya Rick,
Mate....this is a great idea, I hope that the guys get into this, man that knife is something, I recently gifted to my very good mate my A.G Russell, and I loved this knife...I already miss it, and I have been without it for two weeks now, but he loves it, and I have too many knives to edc, so it gives me a good excuse to bring out another safe queen to edc , here it is....

But your knife being a single bladed Wharnie, in my opinion leaves mine behind...NICE GIVEAWAY my friend, and thank you for your too-kinda words

Thanks for the chance, I would love a chance at that sweet knife! I've been meaning to do a giveaway myself lately.

Rick,
thank you for the opportunity, and for your generosity. It's good to think that this giveaway will start a line of other giveaway's, and it's also nice because everything started with Duncan's thread, which has surely been one of my favourites so far, even though I didn't have the opportunity to take part of it (not that I could have won anything...just wanted to do it for the fun of it).
I may also have a knife to give away  and I sense that this will go a long way. Sure I wish for it.

Starting a give away like this is just great... Starting one with such a beautiful knife to start out with is amazing. I'm in.

Hard for me to get outside right now, (problems with my knee). So I went with a snow theme on paper. Hope that still works.

How very nice of you. I have a beautiful Case 2-blade traper in yellow and CV that has a twin that I'd be willing to offer up if I win this one.

Rick, thanks for your magnanimous offer and thanks to Duncan and all the others who make the Traditional Folder forum such a great place.

Sounds like a grand idea and I too have a knife in mind should I win. Thanks for the chance.
