I think that the Crawford Kasper one has a manual LAWKS on it. I had one some time ago and IIRC it was not the AutoLAWKS system but the manual one. Still a very nice large knife.

Hmm, interesting maybe i should give the Crawford Kasper a try

Thank you JNieporte and Camoninja!

Whether or not JNieporte's RAT-1 is still available I would like to off this up...new CRKT Crawford Kasper with the walker lock. Pretty sturdy and large, 9.2" oal, 4" blade. I bought 2 of these because I liked the fixed Polkowski companion. This one is up for someone else to enjoy. Camoninja has first refusal then next to post gets it if he says pass.

Ill take it if its still available

Yes, this has the manual lawk, as soon as you grip the knife your thumb naturally engages it. I found it very well thought out, there are quite a few tests on it and it seems to take a lot of abuse before failing.

To all the interest, sorry it was claimed by camoninja.

On a positive note, since its now discontinued, I just looked and you can now pick them up online for pennies on the dollar! :)

Hey antihero, if you still have the stubby razel, I'll gladly take it!

Also, I know it's not much but at the moment I have a lightly used Kershaw Shuffle I'd like to pass on if anyone wants it.

That Shuffle looks like a cool little knife. What do you think of it?

Ok guys my turn [again]. Up for grabs is a sharpener I made from a quartz-ceramic rod, if your unfamiliar with quartz-ceramic its the only transulent material capable of holding up to the heat of the electric arc discharge inside of a high-pressure sodium lamp. It is an extremely fine material and as such this sharpner isn't a general use sharpener, its for finishing or touch-up work.

I ask that you have already given something, or give at the time you ask for the sharpener. The other thing I ask is you already have a coarser sharpener and need a higher-grit stone for finishing (cause again that's what this is really for). Its just slightly more abrasive than a steel and it'd be nearly impossible to sharpen a dull blade with it. If I had to guess I'd say its somewhere around ~3k grit.

This particular rod came out of a 600w bulb, I use one of these in my own sharpening (but I have a ~2" longer rod from a 1000w bulb) and it really works well for touch up and finish work on my recurve blades. It would work great as an add-on to a sharpmaker or other similar sharpener.

Construction is quite simple, a sheet of HDPE with a handle milled in it and the quartz-ceramic rod is seated in a milled in channel and secured with epoxy (so it doesn't come out). Care is simple, it can be cleaned with water and a powdered abrasive cleaner (like comet) every few uses.

(The bill is for size reference, its not included!)

Well got some good news today, turns out that my wife doesn't need more surgery! The ultra sound tech made a typo and said that she had a cyst that was 43cm. She meant 4.3cm. Now she can just do another radioactive iodine treatment instead of surgery. Now we have to figure out how to not pay for the MRI that showed it was really only 4.3cm. After all if she hadn't made that mistake we would have never needed the MRI. That's an $900 mistake!

I have a Lightening OTF to give away.
Has been handled but still works like new.

More to come in the near future.

All I ask is that you pay it forward as well:thumbup:

Edit on second thought I don't really think I want the OTF (or any other auto), just seems like its tempting the police (the police around here are not use to people being responsible and if it ever came up they'd hold me "guilty till proven innocent"). I don't want to put myself in that situation.

I already have given.

EDIT: apparently it was the original pay-it-forward thread. These threads move so fast I have a hard time keeping up!

He's not saying you haven't given. He's asking why you're waiting until you get something first? I agree, that sounds more like trading, but to each their own.

OK folks,I'm a bit conflicted today.I feel the need to give, but at the same time I'm feeling greedy so you'll have to give me something before I can give you one of these knives. ;)
I have an Orange Alox Vic Classic & a Buck Hartsook keychain/necker up for the right posters.

The deal is,I'm a music lover & love to discover new(to me)artists & songs to add to my library.

Soooooo...all you have to do to claim one of the two knives is say which knife you would like & post a youtube vid of a song you like.(instructions at the bottom of this post for those that don't know how)

I'll pick the one video/song posted for each knife that moves me or grabs me the hardest.(one video & knife per person please)

Edit just to be clear:Multiple posters are encouraged so I'll have a variety to choose from.

It can be something soulfully mellow(mmm),funky like a monkey,a little country
hatsoff.gif
,house rockin' blues
dancin.gif
or kick ass rock n roll,
punk.gif
it doesn't matter as long as it grabs me by the ears & says listen up dude.

I'll give it until around midnight tonight my time(Pacific) to pick the groovy tunes.

Oh,& something like this won't cut it BTW.:barf:

And if you don't know how to post a youtube vid...
You click the word Share right below the vid & copy the code that pops up.
Then come here to reply to thread & click the little symbol that looks like a piece of video film in the selection of posting options in the grey area at the top of the window.(third one in from the right, middle row)I assume the options are the same for paying & non paying members.
Once you click the little symbol a box will pop up with a place to paste the url you copied from youtube.
Paste it & hit ok & then preview your post to make sure it made it here ok.
Amazing,just like magic eh?

Am I eligible if I've already paid forward and have yet to take anything in return? I'll understand if you say no.

Edit: Hehe, late again, oh well.

Hey man, that is a sweet idea for a sharpener! I blew up a worn out 3/4 carbide endmill a few months ago at the shop, I still had a good 5.5 inches of solid carbide shank left, and have used it to touch up my knives at work like a sharpening stick. It actually works about like the extra fine sharpmaker rod, in respect to taking out minor rolls.
