Off Topic PayPal "acceptable use " restrictions ?

Sorry . I'm not sure where to post this .

I put a push knife in my cart at an online merchant and was told PayPal was disabled because of this item ?

Never happened to me before .

Is this a commonplace thing now ?

One or the other or both. "Restricted" items in California are often blocked by paypal/eBay, even if neither the buyer nor seller is in California, simply because paypal and eBay are. Paypal payments can get flagged and frozen by algorithm for certain keywords in the description/notes/comments.

Any transaction that paypal MAY construe as a "weapons" transaction can get your account locked.

Wow , great to know "big brother " is watching out .

I can certainly live without PayPal if it becomes a problem .

And never include the word "damascus" in the title, notes, description etc. or that will get locked down in a hurry.
