PAYPAL will no longer accept transactions that deal with firearms or firearm products manufactured after 1898.... this has been their policy for a few months now.

My account has been terminated. First the guns, then the knives....

Well I'm sure they did it for the sake of the CHILDREN. Such bullshit. Welcome to the Brave New World.

The wording should be the same since PAYPAL is own by EBAY!
When Paypal was bought up by Ebay I didn't want to get an account . Ebay was having problems.

I've been thinking about this.

Maybe its an insurance issue?

I mean owners of a certain grocery store chain are of a certain religion that prohibits consumption of alcohol, caffeine and tobacco, but you can still buy it all in the store.

Business is all about money. Political beliefs aside.

Maybe there are issues that are just beyond the whole PC crap of "no guns or knives", etc.

That has been their policy for quite some time...

But it's not a problem if you don't tell them!

The only problem I see is the huge cut they take out of my eBay sales...

They don't just choose not to participate in transactions in (items they choose to define as) weapons -- they refuse to do any business at all with anyone who sells (an item they choose to define as) a weapon. That can't possibly be excused as an insurance issue.

Thats an entirely different matter.

If they don't do weapons for some legitimate business reason (ie: liability insurance) ya can't fault them.

If they boycott doing business with businesses in the knife/gun business just because they don't like the products, thats their business, but its bad business. The PC crap has gone too far.

Thanks Cougar for making that distinction.

Kinda sheds a different light on it for me.

I won't say I won't use PayPal because they are so damn convenient, sometimes, but I'm certainly open to other methods...

It's OK. so long as you don't advertise what the funds are for. At least it's very convenient and you can get knives faster as the funds are immediately available. Jus beat them at their own game by describing things just right.
