Paypal and Butterfly Knives

What a surprise when Paypal informed me that I could no longer accept PayPal payments on our websites because we sell butterfly knives. I closed the account as well as my Ebay account (Ebay owns PayPal.) I did a lot of shopping on Ebay and I will miss it but right is right. If they disapprove of how I make my living, I have no business supporting their business. Too bad raving lunacy liberalism is alive and well in California.

There's a couple other options. Western Union Bidpay, and there's some other auction payment thingy, but damned if I can remember what it's called.

What is wrong about what Paypal does, they don't just say you can't use Paypal to sell butterfly knives. All you have to do is just have it on your website, now that is just plain b.s.

True, but it is not as widely accepted or convient.I mean bidpay just allows you to charge a money order. It still takes day's for payment to be recieved unlike Paypal. There needs to be something just like Paypal for some competition.

I see hundreds of butterfly knives on eBay all the time. Why is okay to list them on eBay, but not to use Paypal to pay for them?

I have coined a new word for all of this BS
Megaretardation!

These people have their heads so far up their own hindquarters, they have lost most of their brain functions due to the lack of O2

Not anymore.

It was only like a couple months ago. Now all you get from searches is the manuals, videos, trainers, and carkeys.

Unfortunately, that’s life in the big city. It’s too bad that PayPal is so damn convenient. I have used it to pay for knives, guns and ammo. They just don’t know it.

Citibank tried to give them some competition, but it never got off the ground.

As long as you are complaining about this sort of thing, you should stop using Google. They do not accept ads from gun and knife web sites or businesses. Life is tough. :grumpy:

I'm not defending eBay, PayPal or Google, but they have the right to refuse service. (No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service) As long as we are on the subject, I wonder if BF would allow someone to sell hardcore porn here? I wouldn't like that, I'm just making a point.

A more relevant analogy would be: If we found out you have some porn on your hard drive would we ban you from using Bladeforums? Also, does a portion of your membership fees here go to anti-gun organizations? Or anti-porn organizations, if you're stuck to the porn analogy....

By the way, many of us do avoid using Google. There are plenty of other search engines -- it's not really much of a hardship.

The laws that ban automatics and butterfly knives are so utterly ridiculous. There are more people killed with kitchen knives than with either one of them. I agree with the guy that started this thread. Somehow we got to hit them where it really hurts the worst. RIGHT IN THEIR BANK ACCOUNT.

I just saw 2 Spyderco Spyderfly butterfly knives on Ebay last night. I wonder if ebay will refuse to take their fees if the knives sell. This politically correct crap just makes me want to PUKE. Our founding fathers are probably puking in their graves over all these draconian knife and gun laws. Knives & Guns are 2 things that made this country great.

Let's quit calling them liberals>>> Let's call them what they are>>Totalitarian Communists:mad:

If that were the case, this'd be a rather empty place.:D

As I said, I am not defending eBay, PayPal or Google. My point was simply that they have the right to do what they want just as you have the right not to do business with them.

There are a lot of things that eBay misses. They busted me for listing AR-15 barrels, but they missed a Colt single action. Maybe it has something to do with the way the listing is worded. It's sort of like going fishing. You can't catch all of them.

As with most things on forums, this is probably a waste of time. Someone is going to read something into this that isn't there, just like they did on my previous post.
