Anyone else having problems with PayPal?

I am a "verified business member", way too many transactions under the bridge already, and right out of the clear blue %^*(&% sky, they demand that my CONFIRMED (original) credit card, CONFIRMED checking account and CONFIRMED damn address are not enough.

"Your account will be placed on restricted status. Restricted accounts continue to receive payments, but are limited in their ability to send or withdraw funds. To lift this restriction you need to complete our credit card verification process. At Least one credit card in your account has been unconfirmed, meaning that you may no longer send money with this or any other card until you have completed the credit card confirmation process. To initiate the credit card confirmation, please follow this link and fill all necessary fields: "

I am being held hostage by PayPal to re-submit all kinds of personal information AGAIN!

mothers maiden name?
social security number?
etc. etc. etc.

AGAIN!

I'm about to tell PayPal to stick it and rotate.:grumpy:

That email wasn't really from Paypal, buddy. Hope you didn't click on the link and give the spammer all your credit card info.... If you did, inform your credit card company immediately.

Yup. That has scam written all over it in big bold letters. As they say, they'll never ask you for information such as that in emails. If you ever see such, DON'T DO IT! Report it to Paypal immediately. If you gave them the info, you have some phone calls to make pronto.

Speaking of which, something has bothered me about Paypal for a long time. Has anyone ever noticed that until you actually go to withdraw money from you are never notified of your withdrawl limits. (at least in the basic account) I've looked at all information to be gathered on Paypal, and not one word about. Is that illegal? I imagine that it's breaking someone's law for failure to notify consumers when they are keeping your money, and not telling you about the interest on your account (0%)

And another thing, you can't even send those retards an email. Try it, you'll get shuffled to one "help" menu after another. It's ridiculous.

I got boned by someone last year who manged to access my e-bay password and paypal account to bid for several expensive items without my knowledge. Contacting paypal was a nightmare and I had to close my checking account completely to prevent the crook from taking money out through paypal. After that incident, I have not nor will I ever use paypal again. It is impossible to talk to a real person there and e-mails went unanswered for days on end while this person was ripping me off.:grumpy:

Very interesting Cougar. Now that you mention it, it kinda makes sense. I did have the right instinct though, they got no information from me. I clicked on the link and when I saw what they were asking for I said "forget it!"

I did immediately notify paypal, but "help" has not responded to my email from mid day yesterday - about 36 hours.

We'll see how this goes.

Paypal is very convenient, but they are walking on very thin ice with me.

Thanks, I really appreciate having this forum.

Why are you supporting an anti-gun company to begin with?

Til now its been for my own convenience.

Its been becoming less convenient, however.

Kevin. Are you referring to paypal, e-bay, or both? Not to ask a stupid question but I underestand that e-bay will not sell firearms because of legal complexities. If there is more to this or something about paypal please advise as I will immediately cease any and all biz with any company that is of the referred ilk.

IE: Don't buy "ben and jerrys" and I won't even have it if it's free (took an armfull from a clients comp table and dumped it into a trash can. Whenever I encounter the (GAG) film "bowling for columbine" or any book by a socialist like clinton, gore, or the snake head who worked for them at a store I cover it with other titles or put them face down on the floor. I request information to be mailed (postage fees, postage fees) to me by "companies" like the brady bunch and ask for as many copies of their garbage as they can send (makes great fire starting material). And on and on and on.

:D

hey I always liked the Bradys..Greg, marcia, cindy, Alice the house keeper..I know mr. Brady never showed a gun in the house but to say he is anti gun ...come on!

It's almost impossible not to "support" an anti-gun company these days.

If you care enough to completely check to see if a company is anti-gun, you'll find that there are countless businesses & companies not to do business with.
That being the case, what usually happens is people find a reason to do business with companies, unless of course those companies don't have anything they want.
In other words, it becomes a matter of convenience, with people conveniently not knowing a company they use is anti-gun, or some such.

Of course, if that suits you, then go for it.

I think it's this very kind of non-sense though that has led to what we have now. Instead of gun owners actually doing something to make a difference, everyone does as little as possible and pats themselves on the back for it.

But anyway, that's just my opinion....

Be careful there are some going around like that from Ebay too. They say something like that you are banned from Ebay and need to fill out a from to be put back up.I then went to ebay to see if I could get on and everything was working fine.I just delete them and forget it.

True enough, like Levi's jeans for example - many pro-gunners wear them despite their activities.

Even despite their anti-gun stance (and ebay's), there's plenty of reasons not to support them - http://www.paypalsucks.com/

Everyone loves the "convenience" until there's a problem. Then you are screwed (if your account isn't drained and funds lost).

But hey, it's all a matter of comfort level. Some people's ethics are pretty cheap and some will ignore what doesn't fit into their world view.

Spark is absolutely right about the Paypal convenience. Then comes the big crisis! Your account is drained, you can't get hold of anyone to do anything about it, and have no idea who even commmitted the theft. I did lots of transactions through paypal for knives bought and sold on this forum until I experienced the nightmare of being ripped off. It sucks!! The best way to go is to use money orders and cash them before the merchandise is shipped. Yeah, it's slower but will save you from getting boned by Paypal.:(
