I had to make a down pmt on a service using Paypal & my credit card. Well, I canceled the order, and I received an automated e-mail yesterday from PP, saying I was refunded. But nothing is on my card's activity list yet, and the initial charge was made on my last statement, so I'm paying for it +interest. How long does the refund take to process, or is it in some Paypal credit acct. that I don't even have (didn't sign up w/PP for the transaction)

I'm thinking that the money went into your Paypal account. Log in and check to see if it's there. If it is, then you can get it back by several methods. Just click on the header to withdraw funds to get it sent directly to your checking account or have a check sent to you, etc. If it isn't there contact Paypal to find out what's up.

The money is more than likely sitting in your paypal account, and you'll have to use one of the nominated ways of getting it back.

I don't think you can complete any type of transaction on Paypal without having an account. Your money probably went to the company you had the downpayment with.

That's what I think, also. You have to have an account to be able to transfer the money from your bank account, Paypal account or Credit Card to their Paypal account. You should have a Paypal user name and password, etc.

If you are a PayPal "member", and have a username and password, then you have a PayPal account. Log on, skip past the page of advertising crap that comes up next, and you will see your account activity page. Am sure the funds will show as being there. When you deal thru PayPal, the money gets transferred from your Credit Card account to your PayPal account, then paid to the seller from your PayPal account. If the seller refunds, the refund goes to PayPal account where it sits until you either transfer it elsewere, withdraw it yourself, or use it to pay for something else.
