PayPal question

I was apparently sent a payment today via friends and family which I believe is the same as gift? I say apparently not because I don't believe the person but the payment hasn't shown up in my account.

In any case that's not how I wanted to be paid. I can't refund a payment that doesn't show in my account.

Has anyone had this happen before?

That's strange. I thought in the past it would at least show the payment but it wouldn't but you have access until it cleared

That is interesting.

I don't think that's what happened with me as I think I figured out the problem.

you can't refund a gift/f&f payment. you have to send a new payment out to the guy as if it's a payment from you to him.

You can refund it(at least in US), but it has to be a total refund not a partial. Rules in your area of the world may be different.
PP sends you something(email) saying that it may take awhile for the post to show, though I have never experienced it past an Hr. or so.

It should show in your account FandF,regular or echeck. They may have mistyped the address. If they did it should be showing as unclaimed on their end.

The last echeck I got took 12 days to clear and add to my account.It did show as pending as soon as they sent it.

In blue ^ is the key. Don't know if money sent through F&F (= GIFT) can be refunded but I do know that $$s "refunded" have no fees attached but that $$s simply sent "back" will incur fees, so if one decided to refund make certain you are using the "refund" feature.

Yes but it ( Paypal) will tell you that via email or in your summary page. rycen in the past,I call them. It sounds like that payment might have been flagged or cancelled last minute. They have a phone # & in the past I get to the bottom of any issues asap,this way

youre right! I tried a partial refund and I couldn't do it.
