That happened to me too. They very very much want to be tied to a bank account. I think it is so they can pull money from the account at no charge to them (as opposed to being charged by the credit card company).

That is probably true, however, there is an option to switch to your backup source of funding (i.e. Credit Card) every time you go to send money. I do have mine linked to an account & a CC, & have not (so far) ever had a problem with them messing with it, nor any static about maximum CC charges.
