Paypal scams !!

Hi guys

I have been using paypal for years without any problems, I payed for a knife yesterday and the money has come off my credit card and I received a "receipt for your payment" email but the transaction number is invalid and nothing is showing up in my history !!

If this is a paypal scam I am never going to use the damn thing again cos I know a few people who have been burnt but never thought anyone would catch me out.

Let us know who you dealt with (as far as the knife goes), and alert Paypal to your situation.

This is the thread where i found the knife for sale but I doubt it is Adam's (Doogan) fault, he is a good guy !!

Still no sign in my paypal history !!

Whenever I buy on eBay, my concerns are: "Will it arrive and will it be as described?"

So your credit card was charged with the proper amount and you anticipate getting the goods.

The problem would be what?

GFhoward - not as far as I am aware mate !!

Thomas - there is no record of my paypment on my paypal or Doogan's but the money has come off my card !!

Keith - Adam tells me it hasnt and I believe him as the transaction hasnt shown up on my history/acctivity either !!

You definitely need to check with both PayPal and your credit card company. It's possible something glitched and while it sent you the receipt, it didn't actually charge the card. See if the money was actually deducted from your CC or not. If not, then it's likely that the process just got messed up somehow. Might also be a good idea to change your PayPal password just in case.

Did you follow a link or logged in into your paypal account and click SEND MONEY from there?

I dont know what has gone on here, there is no sign of this transaction in my paypal account but the money has left my credit card (they cant tell me who got the payment as it needs to go throught the system).

I dont remember replying to any dodgy e-mails or following a paypal link but then again its not impossible !!

This sucks - looks like i've lost £100 !!
