I agree - you deserve a *full* refund, including shipping charges and the cost of redoing the crinkle finish. I consider myself an amateur at doing this kind of work, but I could do a heck of a lot better job; that is very poor quality even for an amateur. Best wishes in getting this resolved to your satisfaction.

That is poor craftsmanship.
I won't make any comments but that really does need to be refunded in full.

I do believe that is one of Ronybears reworked Busses. I have the pleasure of owning a rehandled BA-E satin finish that is just awesome. I have the name of the maker if you're interested. Jay, I yhink I have a pic of the work if you're interested.
That is just pi$$ poor work and you should get a refund.

i duct taped the handle of an old hickory i used for throwing, and it looked better then that. at least the tape lines were even...
i tried to see the upside of the design when looking at it and thought "well, at least the pins are a nice downwa.... oh... they curve upward.... thats stupid."
that definitely sucks... hope it turns out well...

I could do it all over, if you want... If the coating is ok, cleaning it off and reefitting new slabs should be easy.
Only problem is I´m in Denmark, so even if I do it for free -you still have to pay for shipping.

id go with a busse custom shop handle... it'll be a one of a kind variant (or limited to no more then 2 or 3), and you'll have the busse warrantee behind it.
sure, it may cost almost as much as the knife, and may take even longer then you had to wait for this shoddy job, but you'll never have to worry about damage, and it will be as close to perfect execution as your likely to find.

Those pics just get worse and worse. I can't believe that nonsense. To refer to those pictures and use the word "craftsmanship" would be a travesty. I can understand your reluctance to publicly state who did this to your property but... in this case, I would consider doing such a thing just to prevent others of us from befalling the same fate in the future.
I would send that knife back to Busse and have them bill the clown who mangled your blade.

i just realized that the pins arent even flush to the material...
looks like a "aaaah crap... gotta finish this by 6am... that gives me....... 40 minutes..." kind of job...
id be interested in seeing his other work to see if people are satisfied with this kind of quality, or wether you just got a very poor job from a decent craftsmen.

A quick update and thanks to everyone who has replied and offered suggestions and assistance, I really appreciate all of the advise in this matter.
The re-handler stepped up to the plate and e-mailed me after my first post and offered to re-do it. I have declined and just asked for a refund, let's see what happens. Thanks to all of you Hogs that chimed in with suggestions and some very generous offers to buy it.

Lets hope he does the right thing and makes restitution. The damage to your knife should be taken into consideration as well, I still go back to those pictures and wonder what kind of person would do that!:grumpy: for whatever the reason its inexcusable and just downright insane! What could cause someone to send out something like that is beyond me, its more than shoddy, its unacceptable.
On a brighter note, who's gonna fix that crap!?! someone please step up and make some decent scales for that knife! It deserves some coddling after that butcher did what he did!!:barf:
