i just got the word that we are NOT being pulled off Canadian newsstands neither have we heard about any other knife magazines being pulled off Canadian newsstands, for that matter.

however, please keep me posted and always feel free to contact me on such topics-or anything else, for that matter.

It is looking more and more like knife lovers are going to have to become a secret society that meets in hidden away places and knows each other only by the rings they wear and a secret handshake.

Only in Canada. . . :p

CJ, there is no ban on knife magazines in Canada so they will not be taken off the shelves at all stores across the country. It is only at stores that are owned by Indigo Books & Music, Inc. that seem to be removing them from their shelves.

It is Indigo's position that these mags are being taken off the shelves because they do not sell well, not because they are trying to be politically correct. If this is the case then Edmonton must be an exception, because all the knife mags sell out long before the next issue comes out, at every Chapters that I frequent.

Thank you for your email inquiry. I apologize for the delay in responding to your concerns.

We have indeed delisted some gun magazines within our periodicals department. We have by no means delisted all of them, several titles are still available for sale.

We review all of our product categories regularly and cull what customers, through their purchasing habits, tell us they are no longer interested in and we expand those categories which are growing. We do this assessment on an ongoing basis. In other words, if sales of Canadian Living or Cosmopolitan magazine dropped substantially we would remove those titles and replace them with others that showed more promise in terms of sales. To give you a concrete example, we have delisted NFL Insider and Wizard magazines as well.

Thank you for your interest in Chapters Indigo Online.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best Regards,

Very interesting... perhaps we should reread mnblade's post on page 2 3/4 way down?
Rubber stamped bullsh!t

Something quite interesting happened yesterday. I went to a Chapters that teo weeks ago had no knife magazines on it's shelf. I found Blade, KI and TK on the shelf, but blade was a month out of date. The other magazines only come out every two months and may have been the most recent. I don't know for sure because I don't purchase KI and TK. I would sure like to know where these magazines came from.

Well the affiliated store Coles still have a couple of copy of KI, but they don't carry anything else.
I'm not counting on them going to get more knife mags... with that kind of rubber stamped replies.
