Well folks PEACE 2008 is history. It was fantastic. The final count including children was 51. What a great time. The flintknapper (Garrick Malone) was a big hit, with some folks flint knapping into the wee hours. Other folks were into the wee hours with some special guests (Jack Daniels, Jim Beam & Captain Morgan). A lot of old friends from past years were here and we met some new ones. Knifeforum, Hoodlum Forum & Blade forum members at one rendezvous, what a great group.
A special recognition to Ditch (Cindy). What a special person she was in that the first night she endured Scaaty, Big John and Fernando. I really expected to wake the next morning and see her car gone, but what a trooper she was. If she could endure the 3 stooges she could endure any hardship on any survival trip.
Also some very special friends were sorely missed this year and we are looking forward to seeing them and all of you back in September for WAR.
Anyway, a special thanks to all who attended and made this a wonderful experience. Youz is a special group of folks.

Marty,
Sounds like a great time. I'm sorry that I couldn't be part of the fun. I sure hope that people will post some pictures.

cool marty... those gatherings seem to always be a blast.. i wish i lived closer...:o

who's got the pics...:D

Oldman / Marty,

I have visited your website on multiple occasions and a few years back almost made the commitment after my wife and I chatted about it extensively. I very much need to brush up on my Northern US edible plant consumption as I am on the opposite end of the eastern part of the country these days.

What a wonderful gig you've got doing something like this for a living. Anyway, someday soon, for sure, someday soon..

BTW, any photographs to share on this last outing??

Thanks,

Anthony

Thank you Marty and Aggie I Really needed to get away! and it was the best venue.
Cindy walked into Hell Fire and lived :D What a trooper she's one of the "Guy's"
As she said "What a a great show":) hee hee

Marty and Aggie, and those who attended, thank you for a wonderful weekend! As usual, your hosted a fantastic weekend of fun, knowledge, and good times. See you at WAR!

Sorry I had to miss this one, guys! I was there in spirit, though, and hope to be at the WAR rendezvous.

Guys this was a great time weekend. Much thanks to all for making this possible.

Stu, the clam chowder was incredible, thanks. Akabu, thanks for the help with my van, and the good talks around the fire.

You are very welcome! Next time I hope to get it made at home, and bring it ready made!

We really had a fantastic time. I never heard so much laughing in my life as was heard Sunday night around the campfire.
Brian, you missed an unbelievable time. There was even some spirits left although I don't know how Scaaty let that happen. Big John even introduced his campfire dance. Food was fantastic and plentyful with cakes and other treats. I will be eating my favorite Manhattan Clam chowder for a few days. A few trips were made to the local gun shop (over 1000 guns) and a few purchases were made.
Cindy, you were quite a surprise. I couldn't believe the ribbing you took from the three stooges and it didn't bother you a bit.
This year the number almost doubled to around 51. Forty adults and eleven children including Scaaty.
I can't mention everyone as my one finger typing gets tiring, but I can't thank you all enough for the wonderful time. Anyone can put on one of these events but it is you guys and gals that make it the wonderful event it has become.

Damn I wish I could have made it! I am glad everyone had a good time though.
Marty I look forward to seeing you and Aggie again during your course this summer.

Brian,
Are you 'sure" Marty will let you come? LOL
Sorry you missed it, we had a blast!

Well, if he let YOU in, he obviously will let anyone in. :p (just kidding)

Marty, I'll quit work if it means having to miss the next one!!!! Need a gardener?

Thank you for a great time...I think I left a little present for you over by the firepit..
I brought a bottle of brandy out by the firepit in case of snakebite...;)

Feel free to put it on your kit!
LOL
Wade

PS. Courtney already is asking when we can come back and see you guys!

I guess even 11 year old girls have fun in the woods!

A1, the girls you brought were a trip. They survived our pincer movement for their marshmallows with aplomb.

Aggie and Marty are terrific hosts and I'm just sorry we had to leave a night early.

The lectures, demos, and campfire chat is all top notch and the greatest group I've fallen in with for a long time.

Cindy was a hoot. First vous, "bamboo knife," she came back for more. I watched her get real turned on by flint knapping. It was cool to see.

My wife and daughter both had a blast. I just hope the sugar high we gave most the kids from my daughters' birthday cake didn't last too long.

Bill no problem” Pass it on” things had to be done. We are family.. kindred sprits so to speak and drink..:)
Brian “ Shemp” was missed but we’re troopers and we carried on in that vein … waca waca :D
Stu Great Stew even though I Love the White!
This would not happen if Marty and Aggie [Nelly& Shadow] did not set this up.
Thank you from the bottom of my Old heart. I'am on you tail Old Man..;)
Jerry's Dutch Oven Class was a Class Act{ Your sure you don't want to open a Dinner?...} and his food was even higher.
For all those who worked and slaved to set up the buffet.. thumbs up ,I only had to cook once!
