Peanut after 10 years

Hope everyone is well, can’t believe it’s been over ten years of edc, hopefully get another ten
Happy New Year Pete, I hope that you and your girls are well, and that you get to do some fishing now and then :) It's always nice when you call in to say 'Hi', but for me, it's also a coincidence, as I was thinking about you just yesterday, and specifically, about a funny Peanut-related story, involving your grandfather. I think of it from time to time, and it always makes me laugh :D You told it around the time you very kindly gifted me your original Kabar Peanut, which I treasure. I even thought about posting the story with a call-out yesterday, but I couldn't remember if you'd posted it here on the forum, or related it by PM. Besides, it's YOUR story :)

Do you carry it loose or in a slip? It looks like it will definitely last another 10!

It appears you know how to strop to maintain the edge instead of hitting it with a stone every time it needs touched up. 👍
If you keep that up (and don't lose it) it should last at least another 15~20 ... maybe even 30 years before the blades start to resemble toothpicks. 👍😃

Very cool to see a true "EDC" living up to the name!!

I always find it amusing when someone's "every day carry" is actually selected from a quiver of other "EDC's". I'm guilty of it too. ;)

Here's to another decade of it in your pocket. 🍻

That's why I just have an assortment of users, the last "EDC" I had was was my 110 that I carried for about a year almost a decade ago now.
The best I can do is everyday for a couple weeks or couple months on the rare occasion, but usually I'm just choosing the knife to carry everyday for that week.
It's hard to go back as far as knives goes, but I do enjoy the freedom of not having to choose and how good it feels to have one that's relied on ands always there.
My hat ,my wallet, flashlights, pens, multitools...ect those are things that rarely change if ever but I guess it can be nice to have one thing that changes to keep things interesting,

Always nice to see you here Pete and I often think how that peanut has been your mainstay:thumbsup: A very Happy New Year to you and your family my friend :)

I've been carrying a small SAK in my pocket for the last couple of months. I just switched out for a yellow peanut I had in the truck console because of this picture. 👆

Great looking knife! I love to see a well loved knife. Those scales look fantastic! You can't get that look on a modern knife.

Stich, that is the greatest looking legume that I've seen in a very long time. The patina not just from the years, but of the love and care that it has received over those years. It looks like what it is; a valued and cared for companion. Well used, but never abused.

You are worthy of the highest decoration the Cult Of The Peanut can bestow!
