I think its important to give back to the forums especially in my case. Its my little way of letting all the good folks here in this forum know how thankful I am for supporting me in my quest to work on my craft.. While my other two give-aways were pretty much first come first serve this one is bit more challenging.

The first picture is the peanut, its marked Craftsman and has a pattern number of 9507. While not mint its still a nice little knife, needs to be sharpened and loved!

The second picture is a picture of back spring for a pattern I am adding to my pattern collection.. The contest is a little bit of skill and whole bunch of luck! The person that gets the closest to describing what this back spring is going into will get the peanut. I will let the contest run a week or so(my choice) before I pick the winner.

Pattern
Closed length
multi-blade or single blade and what blade style or styles
scale material
steel used for blades
shield

I ranked the items for importance , be specific as far as closed length. This could make the difference between playing and winning. As you can see a tiny bit of skill and lots of luck.

Hope you guys and gals will have a bit of fun with this.

All judging done by me and will be final.

If for what ever reason you decide to change your guess as to pattern or any other item please edit post rather than adding new post.

Ken

Swell-center Whittler
3.5"
Clip, pen & sheepsfoot blades
Chestnut jigged bone
Federal shield

Folding hunter.
4.5"
Single blade, clip w/swedge.
Brown, rodgers jigged bone.
154CM
Acorn shield.

Honestly, it could be so many things, but the line of the back of the spring reminded me of an old Folding Hunter that I saw in a used rack a few months ago, so I described that with a newer steel alloy.

Ken,

Thanks for the chance, not that I know enough from the spring shape to even make and educated guess
This could be for you a great piece of loose association market research
Folk will tell you what is in their imagination.

To be honest, I got quite excited at the possiblity of a Peanut by Ken! :)

Ken great giveaway.. I won't rent my brain for a peanut. There are to many variables just looking at the spring unless you know exactly what pattern it came out of. I could tell you the approximate length if I knew if the knife had a flush joint or not the bolster runs a little longer on one with out flush joint as you know. You said it was quess work and it certainly is.. So I quess I don't know what in the hell you are building, My quess is it will be a nice pocket knife.

Thanks for your contest. It will be fun to see whos the lucky quesser is...

I'd say its a

3-1/2" fiddleback,
one clip etched D2 blade with a nice swedge and a long pull,
some Ivory,
and a federal shield.

I practically described what could be my favorite EDC made by you Ken ;)

Great contest by the way.

Cool idea for a contest!
hmm. If it didn't curve in between those holes, I'd say that pattern of peanut!

OK,
Coke bottle/swell center.
3"
2 blade..probably Clip and pen
No idea on steel... I've seen you use so many.. D2 comes to mind, so, D2 it is.
You did some deep brown jigged stuff a while back IIRC it was micarta-- That, whatever it was.
Plain oval shield- much like the one on the peanut..

A really testing contest!

I'd say a Copperhead

Three & five eighths

2 blader, Clip/Skinner

Micarta

154cm

Bow-tie

Aaaaaarggh!

Thanks for the guess's so far! Stay tuned in the next couple of days I will post a small hint or two.
