Hi folks,
as many of you might have noticed, I haven't been online much this year, but I was busy enjoying my holidays  so bear with me.... ;)
This is just another way to thank this community. Mudguard's thread about stepping a little back from this forum made me think about the reasons why I log in here daily, and I have come to the conclusion that knives are just an excuse, a conversation topic, to share some time with such a great bunch of people who happen to share the same passion. I receive so much from you folks, and I try to contribute when I can. So here's a little story.
More than a year ago, a very nice and kind member of this forum contacted me and told me he was willing to send me a knife as a gift; he thought that, according to the things I wrote here, I could like this knife and pattern, and after a few weeks this knife showed up after a trip from Finland to Sardinia:

It's hard for me to express my thankfulness for Will's gesture, for letting me discover the peanut, and mostly for making me sense that warmth that sometimes feels so natural here that we forget how rare and precious it really is. I have carried this knife quite often for some months, I learned alot about it and about small knives, I felt closer to Carl and his cult, and I want to thank Will again for his generosity.
Now, I feel that the time has come for this knife to move on. I know there's still a lot of peanut love on this forum, so hopefully someone else will be happy to receive it and give it a try. Anyone of us (we know who we are) is welcome to enter and take his chance; I will pick the winner randomly somewhen (probably by the end of the month), so hurry up. I will ship anywhere.
Random thoughts and pictures are welcome, of course ;)
Good luck folks!

Update! The lucky winner of this smooth antique bone Case Peanut is Arizonaranchman :) please PM or email me ;)

Great story Fausto. The peanut is truly a classic. My only "small" knife in this category is a Pemberton and I really enjoy it. It's one of my favorites in fact. These small knives are great companions and up to nearly any reasonable task a pocket knife could be expected to perform.

That's a beautiful Peanut! I'll throw my hat into the game if I may :)

My Pemby...

This isn't an entry - but I wanted to drop in and tip my hat to you for the good turn, what Carl said got me thinking as well (always dangerous )...there is a wonderful bunch of folks around here, nice knives, good humor, what else can we ask for? I probably log on in the morning more to chat than anything else, thanks gals, and gents. :)

That is a beauty. I carry a peanut sized knife daily in the coin pocket of my dockers. Beautiful bone on that one, looks like Case's antique bone.

Did somebody say roasted nuts???

:D

I bring spicy philosophical thought to an otherwise wretchedly bland PC world. Stay salty and nutty my friends.

I will put my name out there too. Have to find a picture of my 'nut, don't have one handy. The only one I have is for Kinsey, so I don't carry it after almost losing it several times. Probably ought to get another, not so special one, I guess, come to think if it.

Thanks to Fausto and Will for this opportunity. That is a beautiful peanut. I just recently got my first two 'nuts (imported cheapos) to test the pattern, and I like them.

I'm in, and thanks again.

Hi Fausto!

Very nice of you to pass along such a wonderful gesture! I would love to take part in the chance but I handled one of these and wanted to love it but I fumbled it around like a buffoon. I hope this one finds a home with someone that will really appreciate it. Meanwhile, we need less excuses of why you haven't been around and more results  I know, I know, I have been MIA for a while too due to a new career.

I hope life continues to treat you well my friend!

Kevin

Excellent story. Thanks for your contributions and the chance. I've recently discovered the nut and have really liked it more than I thought I could. It's about all I've been using for weeks. Even opened a 50lb sack of cat liter with the pen blade this evening. I love that shield and bone covers.... please include me.

Thanks for the nice gesture, Fausto!
Not an entry, just an enjoyment of our great friend halfway round the world!
I must say, the lucky winner will have a real adventure story. The travelling peanut!

Is that a special edition with the XX shield?

I'd love to be included if possible. I don't have the post count that many of you do, but I have been trying to participate, and I experience the found of wisdom that includes all of you most every day.

I've also got a peanut allergy, but have been wanting to give Case's version a try (with the epi-pen on standby, of course 😉).

Glad you're back safe from holidays Fausto.
This is my only peanut .It has delrin scales so that beautiful looking bone would be the equivalent of a chocolate coated peanut for me.
count me in.
Cheers.

Fausto....Ive never owned or tried a peanut before...Ive always been a bit dubious about small slippys but after using my 340T for a while im kind of interested in them....Throw my hat in the ring please sir,and thank you for the opportunity...Shes a beauty!..........................FES

I was busy enjoying my holidays

Yeah, figured that Fausto! :D

Great post my friend, thanks for everything you bring to this great place.

I like the way this lovely Peanut has travelled around. Please count me in for this one. Thanks for your generosity and good luck to everyone.

Jack

Thanks Fausto. I look forward to the Antique Bone Nut moving to a new home, and I hope providing interest and joy for the next user too.
Ultimately, we are all guardians of knives rather than owners.

Regards, Will

Well said...Guardians we are...............FES

Wonderful gesture. I too am not throwing my name into the mix, as I have more than enough Peanuts to keep any person happy for a lifetime. I haven't been on the forum long enough to know your contributions, but I look forward to seeing more of your posts as the year progresses.

This is giving me an idea which I may float by the group in a separate post.

Not an entry, Fausto. Just want to say hope you enjoyed your holiday and thanks for being a valued member of this community.
