I'm a relative new comer to bladeforums and the traditional forums are where I have settled. I cannot say I have owned anything small as a nut. I have carried my grandfathers 34ot since he passed in 07. I have never found it lacking. Thanks a million for such a generous opportunity.
If it isn't an imposition I would love to be counted in on this GAW.
Not an entry, as I already have a nice Case Peanut dressed in beautiful jigged blue bone.
Just wanted to say: "Thank you!" for sharing your story and the wonderful gesture!
Faith in humanity restored ... again!
Edit: Thinking about it that XX-Shield IS intriguing ... so if you select me I would gladly take it. BUT not over anyone who does not have a Peanut yet!
Well done and said Fausto!
Great to see you back - I agree with Carl - you must show some of your holiday snaps!
Not an entry my friend, although that is a beautiful knife - the smaller knives I struggle with because of the size of my fingers - in saying this I have not committed myself entirely to giving it a real shot.
I will pass, if I do carry the smaller knife - this one here is one who awaits eagerly ( although I do slip the knife in my coin pocket now and then )..
Its ALWAYS a pleasure reading your posts Fausto - thank you my friend, good luck to all the entrants!
Thanks for your kind words guys. I'm still very far from balancing all I got (and get) from this forum
The peanut is a smooth antique bone Case XX, although I can't say I know much more about it, except that (as with most peanuts, or so it seems) the fit & finish is very nice.
As for the pictures from my holidays, I still have to download them from my camera, but I will eventually post some nice ones soon...
not an entry , but a good on you for the gifting of a beautiful peanut!
I was already the lucky receiver of a gifted peanut and am enjoying using it very much , a nice little knife it is!
the whomever that gets that smooth bone example will be getting a nice one with a rich history already!
Many years i thought, such a tiny peanut is not a real knife, but now i'm a few years elder and the times have changed a litte bit!
After reading all the good words inside the bladeforums about this little slicer, a few months ago, i bought the first one... and was fascinated. What great little knife it is!
In the meantime i have got a few more of the "little uns" (new and old, Case, Schrade and Camillus) and "my peanut family" is growing month by month... so your little beauty would be not alone here in good old Germany
if there is still time for an entry I would love to, have a yellow cv myself and find it to be very convenient to have around. hard to go wrong with the derlin but smooth bone will be a nice touch! thank you for the entry chance!
The image of Dean Martin trimming some dolls toenails with a peanut poolside on the Mediterranean just popped into my head. Thanks Fausto and congrats Arizonaranchman.
Wow thanks so much Fausto! I was out all day running errands after church this morning. I hadn't been on BF for many hours (very unusual!)... When I return home I find this wonderful SURPRISE!!
I'm so very tickled about this. I've never owned a Peanut if you can believe that, so this will be my FIRST. And what a particularly beautiful example this one is in smooth Antique Bone. I've certainly read and loved every one of Carl's fantastic stories, so by now the Peanut has of course earned a reputation of epic proportions! I can't wait to finally learn the secret handshake and join the Cult.
This forum and it's members are like a family. I feel like I know you all like brothers, sisters and cousins from far and wide. Every morning I start the coffee pot and log onto the Forum to see what's going on. I'm retired recently so I spend even more time here than I used to (that can be dangerous, especially if I dare to peek into the Exchange!). The stories and knowledge and expertise here are so very enjoyable. The pics and camaraderie are wonderful to see.
Thanks so much to you Fausto and every one of you for your contributions and the friendship that makes this the greatest forum I've ever had the privilege to be a part of.
