Great post my friend.

Thank you to all who keep us free.

outstanding post skunk, love that pic of the stars and stripes, daddy's induction date was dec 7, 1942, he is now 84 years young and is still going very strong!!!
he has his own lawn business and can probably out work most of us!!

again, thanks for the post and heartfelt appreciation to all of our active duty and veterans, especially the world war II vets at the moment!!!

Ironically I work for a Japanese owned company and the big wigs are coming today from Japan, so we will have our Japanese flag flying right next to the stars and stripes.

My sincere gratitude to all those who keep us free !

..and :thumbup: to the greatest generation !

Ronnie, give your Dad my thanks for his service !

jimmy, i will do sir, may be in the denver area in late january, will holla...

another awesome pic, skunk, love it!!!

daddy was in the us army, 11th airborne division, most of them died in england and then was absorbed by the 101st screamin eagles, he was also in the tank destroyers and then later on the army air corp which later became the us air force.

the old brown shoe army was some of the toughest men in history.

Sad thing is I have not heard a thing on the news about it today.
On the plus side that is the first pic of yours I have been able to view in a long time.

My gratitude to our servicemen, past, present and future!

I have been to the memorial, and I spent some time with my brother this past weekend, he is in the military, and has spent a lot of time on our "boats".

I cannot even fathom what it must have been like to go through that.

ken,

that is a very good article and that is what my uncle retired from, the navy as a chief warrant officer, he moved around a good bit, but was primarily stationed at gitmo and then finished in norfolk and lived there until about two years ago and moved to nc near my dad.

Big day to remember.

A BIG THANKS for all those who have, are, and will serve our country.:thumbup:

War is horrible, sooo many lives lost. Hat is off for those who died that day and their loved ones.

We didnt defeat the Japanese because we built a better bomb than them. We defeated them because we finally hated them enough to drop it. We're still looking for that level of resolve after 9/11, I hope we find it sometime soon.

Ironically I work for a Japanese owned company and the big wigs are coming today from Japan, so we will have our Japanese flag flying right next to the stars and stripes.

WTF?

Guess I'm getting old - sorry, I don't get that

Thanks for the post Skunk, and thanks to all serving our country.

My mother still mention's that day, and how scared she was. It got my father sent over to the front lines were he was badly wounded.
