"PEDROS" You want to see gear?

About the closest glimpse we will ever see of their survival gear is when ROCK6 gets crazy with the Cheeze-Wiz and lays his stuff out for us. :D

It's still a feast for the eyes, look close at what you can see. Awesome article.

Awesome! Thanks for that link. Those guys are real-life heroes. They have nothing but my utmost respect and appreciation. Talk about a tough job!

I love the "tie-fighter pilot" helmets the pilots are wearing, and the corrugated plastic hose attached to the miniguns to keep flying brass out of the crew's face.

That was a great read with awesome photos. Thanks for the link.

Jeff

Thanks!
That's just awesome!

I'm in the middle of choosing between all kinds of studies for my further education.
The thing is, I don't want to go college.
My wish is to join the Army, and your link has made me even more determined!
Go Army!:D

I have a DVD series on the Vietnam War, Walter "We've Lost The War" Cronkite ( :barf: ) narrates it. They have an interview with a downed pilot who was seriously injured, broken legs, etc. The PJs had to wave off and come back a couple hours later. Awesome story. Those guys went down in that jungle, with VC/NVA actively hunting that downed Airman, and they went alone with an M-16. Knowing that anyone looking in the direction they saw the chute would obtain final confirmation by the hovering Jolly Green Giant.

Hey...bad language... BALLS! "No greater love."

My uncle was a pararescue guy for sometime back when they wore BDUs, don't know if he still is. It's cool seeing what the modern pararescue guys look like.

No greater love indeed. Hats off to all of these incredible men, no matter which conflict they served in!

Jolly Green Giants? When I was in the Air Force we called them BUFFs. Big Ugly Fat .... Fellows.... ;)

Thanks for the link, Don.

Had a friend who was a late 'Nam era PJ. Said it was the best job in the world, all the adrenaline of combat ops, and you get to (usually) save lives in the process.

sodak, Jolly Green = HH/MH-53. BUFF = B-52.

Funny man:D

Great article and I've been to a couple of those outsites...statement of:

Every day is a “National Geographic” day. Afghanistan is incredible.

is really an understatement!

I must say I have the most respect for the 'ol PJ's. There's a fight everyday in our AO and the medical guys are keep the troopers alive.
