I was doing my good duty as a brother-in-law and sharpening my wife's sister's kitchen knives this afternoon. She had something that caught my eye: A peeling knife.

If you're not familiar with it, it's a bit like a hawkbill, but not so curvy. Here is a pic of one like her's.

With my Sharpmaker, I was able to put a great edge on it (and the rest of her knives). I got to wondering if a peeling knife is something I ought to get for our kitchen at home.

Thoughts? Anyone out there use one much? Can you recommend a good one? I'd like to stay under $30.

If you want to peel veggies use a proper more efficient peeler not a knife .The knife shown is often used to make decorative cuts in mushrooms and other veggies rather than peeling.
