Got a question. How do you do this? When I put handle I put 3/8" slabs on each side with the pins and lanyard tubing in place. I read somewhere that when you drill the holes in the handle material you drill a countersink then peen the pin and ground flat. How can I do this? do I need to ground down the handle scales to the estimated thickness the do this? Thanks for your help and I hope I am making sense.

when i do it, I take and drill my scales, put them in place stick the pins in and grind/contour my handle, take it all the way to completion, then drift the pins out, countersink the wholes, and stick 2 new pins in and peen them, buff the pins off and your done.

save them other 2 pins (temporary) and use them again on the next one.

i think this is what your asking.....right?

How or how much do you countersink the holes? And when you use the peening method, do you also use epoxy on the pins?

I can't remember exactly but I think there's a ratio of 1/2 the pin diameter above the handle material for peening.

I do run epoxy down the holes mainly for waterproofing and peace of mind.
