Pekka Tuominen Nilakka??????

This might be a pain to sharpen because you'd have to grind/polish the entire blade. Am I missing something?

TedP

Don't sharpen it, strop it. Keep it up and you may end up with something of a convex edge. But stropping won't wear away so much steel.

I hate to say it, but does this one seem a wee bit too expensive for what it is? I'm assuming that the zero grind/beadblasted G10 might add to the costs, but still. Oh well, I don't mind paying for the design :p

Expensive for what it is? As in, totally new design, all new tooling, extra machining on the G-10, and made in collaboration with one of the top makers in the world should be cheap?

True, but the Gayle Bradley fit every one of those categories (with steel that was more costly to grind) and it's less expensive. Like I said, it's not that off putting, I was just curious.

Nope. The Gayle Bradley uses flat slabs that don't even cover the liners. It also uses open construction rather than the solid backspacer of the Nilakka.

THIS is the Spyderco folder I was waiting for! It looks more like a Japanese style knife!
Sal- Did you design it??
Rolf

I could buy you one. I just looked up a dealer after the complaints about the price, and I could hardly believe how really reasonable the price actually was. Don't these guys look at street price before complaining? :D

Looks like a very functional and elegant design, as usual with Spyderco. It would be nice to have the option of no hole, though, for us hole-a-phobes. Maybe an indentation to maintain the Spyderco look.
