pen blanks for folders

can you use pen blanks for folder. i asked this question a diiferent way before but i plan on learning to do folder soon and i know the sizes are limited but cant you make a half way decent size folder with a split pen blank?-marekz

I have had customers purchase pen blanks from me with the same idea. As Frank said, watch the size. Pen blanks can be as small as 1/2 inch squared. Might be easier taking slices off a block with the band saw. Even a small block should yield at least a few sets of folder scales. Just my 2 cents worth.
