The last two issues of Knife World were of particular interest to me. They dealt with Pennsylvania related pocket knives and as you mayhave guessed this is my focus of collecting. Obviously you would notice that I am crazy about PA pocket knives. I am part of this article. I am asking all of my fellow knife-a-holics if they would keep their eyes open for those unusual manufacturers, importers, hardware stores that have ties to Pennsylvania. The latest issue expounds upon the story a little more and I found it interesting that many flip flopped from various companies and some even started there own. Like "Queen" and Schatt and Morgan. This happened in Tidioute also. I lived near Tidioute for many years and loved to find the old timers who knew of the knife plants and hear the stories about how they made "quick knives" at lunch time for family and friends, and how the kids would beg for the workers to pass out a second to them. These items are increasingly harder to find. A CASE warren PA would be an absoute dream find for me. On another note I travedl to TN and visited the Smokie Mountian Knife Works. YOU HAVE TO GO, what an awesome place for a knife NUT. When the museum is done it will be even more worth your time to go. I spent a lot time there, but I have to say that I only bought one knife and that was for my son. I just was in awe of the selection and historical materials that they have displayed. Well OK before I use up my welcome, just wanted get my 2 cents in and hope all are enjoying this hobby as much as I have over 30 years. Hey, let me know what you have seen or if you need help, I would be more than glad to assist.
