Pens: Clicky Top ,Twisty Bottom or capped?

Clicky for me too. I have had a couple good twisty ones, and they all seem to fail (start retracting) sooner or later.

Clicky. I used to like capped pens but most of them have a plastic shim in the cap. Once that wears out nothing will hold the cap on the pen, at either end. Fisher bullets and milleniums are properly machined to fit no matter what. My only twisty tended to collapse while writing, so that idea died quick.

I carry a capped Waterman Hemisphere fountain pen filled with Noodler's Bulletproof black.

actually, I'm curious as well if anyone knows where I can get my pen refinished, whatever this black lacquer is, it's chipped to all hell now.

Go to the FountainPenNetwork.com Market Watch. You'll see lots of pen restorers under the Professional Pen Services/Sales forum.

I like the Clicky top Fisher Space pen and the capped bullet pen by them. The bullet pen stays in my pocket clipped to a small All-Ett business card holder, the other goes in my shirt pocket?...

I got tired of cheap pens not working, especially when I'm out geocaching and it's cold. I found a Fisher Space pen at REI, and liked both it's small size, and the fact that it's supposed to write anywhere (upside down, in space, underwater).

A couple of pictures, with a standard pen for comparison:

I like it because it fits in a jacket pocket easily, and isn't in the way. So far it's worked perfectly, but it also hasn't been 12° when I've tried to write with it, either.

I don't have a preference. I have several nice pens, with different systems, and like them equally.

I carry my pen in my pants pocket, so a clicky doesn't work out for me. Cap all the way. I have been carrying Pilot Precise V5 pens for about two years now I'd say, I re-bend the clip so that they stay in my pocket better and have been very happy with them. The ones I carry have a snap on cap. HOWEVER, I've just ordered a screw on top pen and a fisher cartridge, So I'm not sure which of the two I'm going to prefer. (S&W aluminum Pen in blue, good looking pen)

What's been in my pocket for the last 30 years have been Cross twisties---10 years ago I ditched the pencil and took on a snap cap gel rolling ball.

So Cross:
Twist pen and
Removable cap rolling ball

I like the clicky topped pens.

I tend to fidget, and I find them entertaining. Also, being able to get them ready for use one-handed is kind of nice.

I've been playing with cheap fountain pens a bit lately, and the vast majority of them are capped unless you spend a lot of money, which is kind of obnoxious.

I need a clicky for one hand operation. My other hand needs to be free to pull my knife for when the bill collectors find me.

Forever vigilant....

Clicky for ease of use! The Fisher AG7 has been going strong for a few years now, and it writes basically anytime, anywhere and on anything!
The only problem I had with it, was that the the two parts of the body became unscrewed in my pocket while at work. But that was easily fixed with a dab of blue loctite. Great pen and not that expensive!!

I've never been really find of pens with caps that had to be removed for use, but on the other hand I have always liked fountain pens. They I discovered I could have both!

Now, I just need to find one for less than $150.

Dude, check out the Pilot/Namiki Fermo - it's a Vanishing point with a twist top - looks better and gives it a little more functional length. They're hard to find in the States, though (although they're on ebay).

I own a Lamy 2000 fountain pen (capped). This thing even makes grocery lists fun to write. it's like buttah.
