Yes, were are sick............sick............sick. I'm 50 and still need more knives.

Thanks for chiming in Robbie, I gotta admit that you endorsing AUS8 is one of the reasons I am thinking of this knife. I figure if the Revolver can take the poundings I've seen pictures of, AUS8 must be OK!

The Last Confederate, you are welcome, it's true, I do like this knife. (I esecially like the tip. ) I don't know if you saw one up close, but it is sharp. I think this knife would make a perfect EDC, "self preservation" tool

AUS-8 so far, knock on wood and all that jazz, has been a wonderful all purpose "user" type steel for me. I know it's not the top of the line, but it will certainly hold it's own IMO.

The PE has a certain look to it that really catches my eye.

Socintel, just DO NOT look at one in person................ :p

I own the PE18 (or II).
This is a very sweet knife.

It has a very large 5 inch blade, feels nice in the hand and is VERY easy to open and close. The "Arc-Lock" works great!
I use the stud to open. A nudge and a slight wrist flick is all it takes. Or just point it down and nudge....the heavy blade does all the rest.
To close, I just pull back on the "Arc-Lock" with my thumb and index finger and just "slightly" wrist flick to close.
VERY smooth and slick.

Robbie is right, the PE has a wicked point. I thought I read somewhere where SOG called it a "Shark Tooth" tip or similar. It is a wicked sharp tooth.

I really like how SOG maximized the amount of blade while keeping the handle as small as possible.

I've had the SOG PE II for a few years now. I really like it and just added a SOG, Flash II as an EDC as the PE II is sometimes too big. I can open the PE II one handed with just a flick of the wrist Now I have to get use to the different system on the Flash II, but it also easy to open one handed.

Yeah I too used to hate knives that had a 6" handle but a 4" blade... I wonder sometimes where the space goes to. But the pentagon elite is just the right proportion! Both handle and blade are almost of the same size.

i got a PE II about 2 weeks ago, at first I thought it was too big but that blade grows on you...:)

The description of the blade tip has me interested also, at first glance it seem awful thin and prone to breaking, but they describe it as re-enforced?

You'll that have one, are they pretty durable?

Also, and god I hope this isn't a "flame" question, but from pictures online, the "Arc-Lock" appears to be similar to the Benchmade Axis-Lock, does it operate the same way?

No flames here, :D yes it operates the same, but IMO it seems to be just a tad smoother for some reason, not sure why.

I own about 3 BMs and really like them all, but the arc locks on all my SOGs are for sure a little bit "slicker", almost like they have been polished.

In other words, as far as quality feel, I would rate the SOGs arc as a 10, and the BMs at a 9.8 :)

Stop your killing me!

yeah, with that big blade it shoots out there quick...I have to take it easy because I have slammed it out so hard that the blade bounces back before I can release the slider...this knife is groing on me more and more...at first I was going to sell it because I kept telling myself it was too big, but I ordered a sheath for it today so...;)
