pentagon sheath??

i just got a brand new SOG pentagon, its a great knife and i plan on carrying it ever day. for all the things i love about it the sheath is complete crap, why it would come with a hokey belt loop type sheath is completely beyond me as it obviously isnt a field knife, or a full sized combat knife. in addition its way to tight making it hard to pull the knife out in a smooth draw.

i stripped off the belt loop attachment and now its just down to the kydex sheath, i added on a simply clip (which was probably a cell phone attachment at some point :barf: ). and i managed to put a splint on the fold of the kydex so its looser now.

my question is this, is there something i could buy and add onto the kydex sheath so i could carry it in belt? or do i need to blow 60 bucks on a custom sheath?
If I need a whole new one, any recommendations, I don’t need anything fancy just functional.

The sheath is retarted. I hate mine.

Unfortunately i think Survival sheats are the only option for production stuff.

christ why did they have to ruin such a great knife with a usless sheath. i guess the cell phone clip will have to do for now.....

thanks for the input anyway

I finally found a pic of the sheath, what is that thing they call a belt loop? But, it looks like you might be able to bolt a Tek Lok to it? That would be the ideal solution, it looks like the base sheath is solid. Without seeing the sheath in hand its difficult to tell much.

yea the sheath is very solid but useless because it dosnt have a clip on it. the wierd belt loop thing is made out of some sort of plastic slide box, i think it may originaly be intended for underwater use.....
will a tek-lok allow me to carry it in the waistband?
