Fallen Leaf Lake Campground, no?

Fallen Leaf Lake Campground, YES! Amazing you could spot that. It was one of our favorite campgrounds. We would go up there a couple times a year, either backpacking up in the Desolation Wilderness or just canoeing around Fallen Leaf lake. One year we canoed into the boat in campground in Emerald Bay for a 3 day Columbus Day weekend. Froze our pitooties off and thought we were gonna die when we tried to paddle out of the bay against gale force freezing winds. But we didn't die! :D

I really miss camping in the Sierras. Not too many places like that here in Central Texas. The wife and boy were saying just the other day we should take a trip back to Yosemite Valley in the Spring.

And she's a pretty good shot. She maxed the TX DPS course of fire (250/250) in both of her concealed carry classes. (But it was with my Glock 19, which she shoots better than the G26.)

I'm kinda proud of her. Now, if I could just get her to properly sharpen her kitchen knives and my Beckers ........ :)

I live about 7 miles or so away, so I consider it a big backyard almost. Its a wonderful campground, and if you ever get the chance, try to grab sites 25 and 52. Both are absolutely fantastic- 25 is set back in its own part of the woods, and 52 is literally right above the river. Unfortunately, neither is extremely close to the path to Fallen Leaf, but a short hike isn't too bad. As for Emerald Bay, I can't imagine trying to canoe there in the harsh wind - its cold enough being on a big boat, but right on the water?

slt, I'm also amazed you recognized the campground from that one picture. Quick, what's that camp site's number? :D

Dude, im calling BS. I just googled weaponeer's wife holding knife and this is what came up. I think your holding out on us....Ps its my new avatar :D

clich, if you're willing to descend into the bowels of W&C, quite a while back, I started a "Girls with Knives" thread that grew and grew. Lots of avatar worthy pics there.

It's going to sound stupid, but I based my guess solely off the fire pit and its ring of rocks :D
