Just received my first-ever 100% custom, made-to-spec knife and Im excited as hell. But before I throw down some pics, heres the backstory
I got serious about collecting folders a couple years ago, and have been fortunate to build a nice, well-rounded collection. But I find myself getting more into fixed blades these days. A few weeks back, I was perusing the Knifemakers Market on the exchange and saw a Mr.G. Peregrinus Combo for the first time. I instantly fell for the entire setup fantastic larger hunter blade, cool 3 utility blade and a matching firesteel - all neatly brought together in a unique leather sheath.
I was about to reply with Ill take it! But Im a lefty and really wanted a corresponding sheath. So I shot off an email to the maker Davorin (board handle = g-knives) and received a nice prompt response. It would only take ~4 weeks for him to make a new knife entirely to my specs, so I sent over my wish list and the deposit.
It was a true pleasure working with Davorin throughout the process. I absolutely recommend him if youre considering a custom blade! He sent regular updates and photos during each phase of the build. It was pretty cool to see my knife go all the way from raw stock to finished product.
Heres what I ordered:
Large blade:
Small blade:
Sheath:
The friendly postman delivered a package from Croatia yesterday, so without further ado heres my new knife!
The knife feels really comfortable in-hand and is well-balanced. And both knives are hair-popping sharp! Overall, I couldnt be happier with the Combo and cant wait to put them to use up in the pines of AZ. Well done, Mr.G and thank you.

Heres what I ordered:
Large blade:
- D2 steel
- 4.8 blade (he also makes the Peregrinus in a 5+ length if desired)
- African Ebony wood scales
- Hand-rubbed satin finish
- Mosaic pins
- Yellow liners (I actually left the color choice up to Davorin, and he picked the perfect accent)
- Lanyard and bead (again, I asked Davorin to pick the most appropriate color)
Small blade:
- N690 steel
- Matching finish
- Matching lanyard and bead
Sheath:
- Left-handed (obviously)
- Minimal tooling for a nice, clean look
- Integrated firesteel with matching wood handle & yellow liner
- (I didnt opt for the extra loop on the bottom for a flashlight, but one is available)
