We ended up celebrating FD yesterday and had a blast playing with knives and getting outdoors. I made it a point to use as many knives as I could find tasks.
Breakfast was eggs, cheese, and jalapeno cut up using the Carothers field knife.

Then I cut up some garlic and steak to go in a mustard / garlic / soy sauce marinade for later. Used a BHK nomad for that task. Odd looking knife but am liking it more and more as I use it.

Next we went to a hiking trail by the house that has a little river flowing through it. Got to see some of the wildlife and brought along my W.A. Surls Minuteman. The brown water snake was not a problem but about 15' away was a very large copperhead. Didn't snap a pic because if I spooked him he would go down stream to all the people in the water. Allen's knife is a beauty!! It's hard to capture how good it really looks in a picture. We had fun floating down stream in the current.

After getting back and cleaned up it was time to get a fire going for dinner. It's the time of year where no one carries firewood here so I headed back behind the house to hunt down a dead tree. The NMFBM made very short work of the hard wood in that tree. After I got the tree back to the yard, the wife used her Silky saw to cut the rest up while I got the fire ready. Just for fun and because it begs for it, I decided to pound the NMFBM through the biggest knot I could find. It honestly took me longer to pound through this solid knot then it did to cut the tree down. I ended up having to use a 3.5' section of 2x4 full swing to pound through it.

After it was all set up I used the BK-15 to prep the starter wood. It had been raining off and on all day so the wood was soaked. It took a little longer to catch but ended up working out. While it was starting up I used the T.M.Hunt trailing point Magua to cut up a habanero. A glass of bourbon and a cigar was also acquired during that time.
