So not only under $100 but also under a 3 inch blade. I'm looking for something to carry in a corporate environment that the normal person would not be shocked by. Many knives I own would get me called into HR which is something I would like to avoid. What are your recommendations?

Something small from GEC

Indeed take a look at CRKT: they have got a good selection of gentleman's folders.

Normally I would second the Leek, but the assisted opening may not be quite so well accepted, given the criteria.

A CRKT Eros may perfect fit the bill. The size is identical to that of the leek, and the detent and IKBS allow for opening as fast as the Leek. The sound upon opening is much more muted, though, as the blade is a touch lighter and the sound is lighter, so to speak, against the titanium frame. A Spyderco Sage 1 or 2 would be great options, also, though I've never handles these, personally.

BUCK 505 and you can have it custom built to your taste check out there site.

If you can find one of the original kiwi spydercos it would fit the bill for an office knife quite nicely. They open one handed, have an elegant look, lock, and are non threatening to the casual observer.

The Europeans are used to being saddled with small knives, but they make the most if it with great classy designs. I would suggest a Jens Anso design, such as the Boker Plus Italy Anso Zero Coyote. Beautiful engineering, made in Italy, and they cost less than $60. Guaranteed to make you feel good whenever you need to use a knife.

Another good choice, if you can find one, is a Spyderco C37 Michael Walker Lightweight. Smooth as butter.
