Perfect Gentleman's Folder under $100

The knife that brought me back to Case is the Swayback Jack a fine carry knife and one you would be happy with no doubt....

Here is a Swindle, Leek and Dragonfly for you to compare.

The Swindle rides on bearings and is super smooth. The Leek is light, thin and has great action. The Dragonfly is compact but has that thumb ramp and choil which allows for a four finger grip.

I would recommend any of them, its a matter of taste.

The Case TrapperLock has that traditional look with modern features. Liner lock, thumb stud and pocket clip.

+ 1 on the Leek. Speed safe opens one handed better than any thumb stud knife I have had. It is made well enough to handle daily use. It feels substantial and not super light like some knives with synthetic scales that feel like nothing in your hand yet it's not too heavy either. I have had several over the years. One lost, one sharpened to death before I learned to just touch up, and the one I carry now.

The Leek is a classic for a reason. But if you want a non-threatening knife that will keep the sheeple at bay, I'd definitely recommend a slip joint with a traditional (i.e., wood, bone, or stag) handle. You've got lots of choices in that area, of course . . . GEC, Case, Schatt & Morgan, Queen Cutlery, Canal Street, et. al. Pose your question in the traditional forum and I'm sure you'll get all the help you need. :)

Case peanut. Can't go wrong. Thin blades and two of them. Hardly even know it's there. Great price and many handle selections. ;)

I have the same exact Dragonfly. The combination 4 finger grip and small size is a winner. I carry it everyday to the office and it doesn't scare anybody.

The crkt ripple comes to mind light and flips out lightning quick. Or a delica with an aftermarket deep carry pocket clip the delica has such good cutting performance for the price it's a fantasticly executed knife

Benchmade 707, its the perfect size and weight, its my go to EDC.

There's nothing tacticool or flashy about it, it's just a great little knife.

Not to mention, right in your price range.

Kershaw Skyline in damascus steel. I carry one everyday at work and it is so classy and well made it ain't funny. I will carry no other at work. keepem sharp

For anyone who might be interested I picked up a tattoo dragonfly today. I like the weight of the all steel grip. My hope is that the picture of the dragonfly will keep anyone from getting too freaked out when I use it in public.

As a lot have suggested, traditionals are your safest bet. Opinel would be great if you plan on using your knife mostly at lunch. Or also, the one i carry every day at the office is the Vic Cadet. It's a damn useful knife and it is elegant at the same time. for $100 you can get an opinel a cadet plus lunch and a couple beers.

EDIT: looks like i'm late to the party. Typical.

Spyderco Dragonfly G10

Spyderco Chaparral CF ($100 at KW)

Kershaw Leek (various colors and blade steels)

Buck 55.

Spyderco Centofante 3 tho blade is 3.125" perfect gentlemans folder $55 or so. Pure elegance

I carry the Sog blink. I wear dress pants and it clips well to the inner change pocket. Then I don't have to worry about it falling out. It is flat and unnoticeable. When I wear dress casual (jeans and tie) it fits in the watch pocket. It also doubles as a money clip if needed. I love it! I just wish it came in better steel. Aus 8 is fine but I'm getting kinda snobby since joining this forum!
