Recommendation? Perfect knife.

I’ve been told I’m a fool. I carry my $300 pocket knife and use it like a Ozark Trail. My soldiers will complain about being asked to use their Kerahaws to open boxes with because it will dull them but I’ll carry a knife to use a knife. Sure it is fun to show off something fancy but I have always seen it a a tool first. So I am not too worried about spending and then being afraid to use it that’s really not my way. I know there is no “perfect knife” but I am hoping someone can push me in the right direction for my next purchase. Tax season is around the corner and if I don’t find something foolish to buy I might have to spend it on something responsible
That tells me you are closer to the right track than most newcomers who make the same first post. That background makes all the difference.
The fact that it will be a user will also help with the recommendations. As you look around, make a note of knives with features you like, and what it is that is the deal breaker for that knife, that will also help you evaluate what is going to work out.

Also, welcome, don't mind the curmudgeons, its a good crew here once you get the vibe of the place. More specific questions get more specific answers, like all areas of life.

That’s been on my short list actually.

Great, maybe it's time to cross it off the list.

If you want the black blade, get the 550BK, I think that would look awesome with the black carbon fiber.

Deep carry clip and Benchmade's warranty are pretty good icing.
