Maybe a British made 2 bladed jack from back in the day? Jack Black, any suggestions along that line?
I did consider a British made one but tbh.. 'made in Sheffield' doesn't mean what it used to. I haven't heard overwhelmingly positive thoughts on the common production ones out there and I have no experience of them myself.
Sorry fellers, missed this. If you're willing and able to look around a bit, there are still some nice old Sheffield knives to be had at a fair price I believe. As for the contemperary ones, unless you're going custom, I think you need to buy in person. Trevor Ablett's benchmade knives aren't too pricey and people seem to report reasonable quality. Arthur Wright & Sons do a spear-point Jack, which is relatively inexpensive, but as with all their products, you need to shop over the counter.
The reccomendations from GEC that have been made are excellent IMO, though over here you're talking high prices and/or long postal delays unfortunately.
