Perhaps a dumb question

I would not use super glue. I would not chance it. You likely won't even have enough time to adjust the pivots before it dries. It dries and binds in seconds. i am not so sure about being able to take it apart again. It might depend on the metal and type of surface it's applied to.
Well guys I got bad news and good news. I stripped the Torx screw. I knew it was going to happen. But one phone call to Kershaw and a new one is on the way. That's what I call customer service, even though it was my fault

I got a little confused with the colors. I ended up with green light duty. The only thing that bothers me is it says penetrating. Is it okay to use this? What I did was let it dry a little bit then turn the pivot

You can't really go by color when choosing a product to use. Loctite makes a variety of products and colors. You need to look at the number. Permatex makes good stuff, so I wouldn't hesitate to use their thread locker. "Penetrating" or "wicking grade" means that you don't need to take the fastener apart. The product will seep in between the threads. Obviously, you wouldn't want to do that with a knife pivot. Applying it directly to the threads is fine.

Hopefully you dont use the wrong stuff again. Heat can help break stuff like this loose though. At some point you'd melt plastics. The time I did it. I used a soldering iron and kept checking with normal torque until the scews came out.

I'll never use green Loctite or Permatex again. I've got a lot of good recommendations here. I think I'm going to try some of them.

That kind of thing impresses me.

I would say go to a different store and try to find some blue loctite 🙂 or see if your friends/neighbour has any.
Yeah I'm just going to find the original blue Loctite. The only problem is Permatex and Loctite are the same company now. I must have been sleeping cuz I didn't know had happened

The blue is rated for 1/4 or bigger. The only loctite made for that small of hardware is loctite 222 or 222 ms. the ms is mil spec. Both are made for 1/4 and smaller. The good news is I found my loctite. Was a little confused cause I thought I had two but a quick search resulted in 222 being the only one made for stuff that small.
