Beautiful work!

I've often had the argument with some reenactor customers over period pieces, they want them to look "old" and "handmade." They get peeved because it's a well made knife and it's not "old" looking, I argue back that when the people of the period carried the knife, it wasn't old then, it was new. The fit and finish I argue is correct because just because a guy used a file doesn't mean he wasn't capable of a high degree of fit and finish.

Soapbox is going back in the closet now.

Beautiful piece, love it!!!

Sort of the same thing occurs in the music world. People pay top dollar for vintage Stratocasters because they want their tone to sound like Jimi Hendrix. The guitar Jimi used at Woodstock was about 4 years old so if people want to sound like him they should buy a 4 year old guitar (and take lots of lessons).

Nice period knife BTW!

It's not the same thing age does not affect tone. They buy vintage because the new ones are not made with the same woods and pickups or with the same fit, finish and QC of the vintage ones so they do not have the same tone.
